Hemochromatosis: Hemochromatosis is a hereditary condition that involves accumulations of excess iron in the body. Treatment usually includes blood letting (phlebotomy) to reduce the excess iron stores in the body and prevent problems caused by excess iron accumulation.

No: Hemochromatosis causes a synovitis and produces a joint pain. If Mom wants to be comfortable, she needs to comply with hemochromatosis therapy, which is usually phlebotomy. No chemotherapy is required.
