A member asked:

I have pink eye is ok for me to use erythromycin ophthalmic ointment and how much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably: Most pink eye is due to a virus. If you are certain it is pink eye (conjunctivitis), and the vision is about normal, and there is no pus, and no pain, then you can use Erythromycin ointment which can provide some comfort while your immune system combats the virus. Generally it is applied as a line of ointment twice per day. If the condition persists see your ophthalmologist.
