A member asked:

I cannot get the prescribed erythromycin ointment into my toddler's eye for pink eye, if i can get it on the eyelid will that help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eye meds: Put a finger or thumb about an inch or so below the eye and tug the skin down. That will open a shelf within the eyelid where you can put the med.The kids normal blinking will spread the ointment. Kids and adults all have problems if you try to put stuff directly into the eye.Good luck.
