Do swollen lymph nodes sometimes make it harder to breathe?

Maybe : If the lymph nodes are in the chest and large enough to compress airways they can affect breathing. Some diseases where this occurs include lymphoma, sarcoidosis and lupus.

Potentially: Lymph nodes in the neck can make it hard to swallow or breath if severely enlarged. The tonsils are lymphatic tissue in the throat that are a cause of sleep apnea. The are also lymph nodes around the trachea than can caress the airways within the chest causing shortness of breath.
