My husband did a std blood test and got results of hsv-1 detected, hsv-2 not detected. is hsv-1 an std? can hsv-1 change to hsv-2?

The two types of : H. Simplex are different and do not change from one to the other. However, both can cause an infection in the oral and genital areas. Usually, if hsv1 occurs from oral-genital contact, relapses do not occur. Most people in the usa are hsv1 antibody positive.
