Plantar fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis, or arch ligament strain is a common cause of arch pain. What you are describing is called "poststatic dyskinesia", a hallmark of plantar fasciitis. Sometimes other causes for this can exist, so see a podiatrist for more information and treatment.
