See a podiatrist.: Your doctor can shave the callus off the top of the lesion and determine whether it is a callus with a core, or an actual wart. Treatments for each can differ slightly, so find out which you have before you try to treat it with over-the-counter removal pads! if it's a nucleated callus, freezing will not help.

Freezing not a cure: Callouses are caused by excess pressure. The best way to deal with painful callouses is custom orthotics- and occassional debridement ( scraping) the callous by a podiatrist.

Was X-ray taken?: This could be due to a plantar flexed metatarsal bone and need x-ray to determine. Possible treatment with padding, orthotics or surgery if that is the cause. Get back with your doctor.

Have it evaluated: Some causes of corns or calluses include: friction, pressure, repetitive trauma, and a limitation of joint motion. You may benefit with the use of a special topical moisturize and the use of a pumice stone or an emory board. Consult with your podiatrist and determine the best approach for you.
