A member asked:

If you pulled your hamstring, is it possible that i will need a wheelchair during recovery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe an Ace Bandage: Hamstring strain can be very painful because the muscles are so large and strong. The injury is not serious, just painful. At no time should you consider using a wheelchair. If the muscle is in such severe cramp that you cannot bear weight, do not walk. Use ice and rest. If you can tolerate an anti-inflammatory medication (advil, aleve, (naproxen) motrin) use this. Pain for > 4 days, see a doctor.
