Lvad survival: Survival of patients with LVADs is about 70% at 1 year, and 60% at 2 years. While the pumps may function indefinitely, patients may develop progression of other diseases or complications which limit survival. These devices are relatively new so long term data is still being gathered. The longest support on record in the US is 6 years.
