Riley-Day: You probably are asking about autonomic neuropathy. There are three types of peripheral nerves: motor, sensory, and autonomic. Any or all can be affected by genetic disorders. Any or all can be affected by toxic or metabolic disorders. Some genetic autonomic neuropathies are well known such as riley-day. Others are obscure. Few are treatable.
