No: Glucosamine is a building block in the formation of knee cartilage, so some have recommended taking it as a dietary supplement to improve the health of your knee cartilage. In a knee arthroplasty, the cartilage is removed and the knee is resurfaced/replaced with a metal and plastic prosthesis. Since there is no cartilage left, any benefit, which is theoretical anyway, would not be seen.

No: There is no strong evidence that glucosamine helps arthritic knees. Replaced knees are made of metal and plastic and are not affected by nutritional supplements.
