TKA cause: Usually arthritis, sometimes rheumatoid or other autoimmune diseases, sometimes post-traumatic. Mostly for wear and tear arthritis.

Typically: arthritis. Degenerative joint disease is the most likely reason to ultimately need a total joint replacement. There are other causes that may lead to such a condition. For example, posttraumatic arthritis may develop after significant injuries around joints.
