What does epiphysitis of the thoracic spine mean?

Incorrect term: The epiphysis refers to the area of bones above the growth plate and closer to the end of the bone. An apohysitis refers to an inflammation and injury of the growth plate. Apophysitis in the thoracic spine would be a condition in children with open growth plates (still growing.) it would involve an injury to the growth plate.
