Bleeding is abnormal: The bleeding generally resolves like any other bruise, depending on the cause. Sometimes the blood can persist for months. Do you have diabetes? Did they tell you what caused the bleeding? Depending on the location, it can be serious. What were your symptoms? At your age, macular degeneration or diabetes would be the most likely causes and both can be serious conditions. Did you see a md?
