See rheum MD: These symptoms can be seen in autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. See a rheumatologist: they will help delineate whether your symptoms are significant or not with further questions, imaging, and blood tests.

Retained fluid: People tend to swell at night due to the lower blood pressure at night and the position of lying in bed for several hours. This may be normal. If it takes several hours to resolve as opposed to a few minutes upon waking it could be an early sign of joint issues (rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory process). Get checked by your hand specialist.
