It Varies: Some women with an incompetent cervix feel only "fullness" & a mucousy discharge. More typical at term it's associated with both abd tightening or pressure, vaginal or rectal pressure, & recurrent labor-type pain. If unsure, see your OB & get checked, especially if you are less than 37 weeks. Take care.

Depends: In general, dilating up to around 4-5 centimeters is painless, but some women say that they can feel the process. After 4-5 cm, the contractions of the uterus help complete the process, and this can be uncomfortable.
