Unusual culture: Staph aureus is one of the most common bacteria isolated from throat cultures and treatable. However, pseudomonas is not a typical bacteria to cause tonsil or throat infection and is cultured in only a small portion of people. The thyroiditis diagnosis should not play a role in the positive throat culture.
