What is the best way to treat a wrist injury?

Rest and ice: Most wrist injuries are sprains and strains of the joints. Rest, ice, immobilization and otc nsaid's are very effective treatments. Most will resolve within 6-8 weeks. If you are not seeing any improvement after a week or two, see a board certified orthopaedic hand surgeon for evaluations and treatment.

Immobilize.: Immobilize the wrist with a splint that can be obtained at most drug stores. Ice the wrist for 20 minutes at a time, 4-5 times per day. See an orthopedic wrist specialist.
