Yes: Yes they can detect diverticulosis, and it is actually the test of choice for diverticulitis.

Yes: But diverticulosis in and of itself is not a problem(half the people over age 50 have some degree of diverticulosis.) it's only if they become infected (diverticulites)that it's a problem....Findings of diverticulites can also be seen on a ct scan. Hope this helps.
