A member asked:

One part of my ct scan report says "diverticulosis without ct evidence of acute intraabdominal or pelvic process". is there any need for worry?

Diverticulosis: Is benign and represents small outpouchings of the colonic wall usually in the last part of the colon. When these sometimes get infected they produce diverticulitis. However, you may never have symptoms from diverticulosis or diverticulitis. The rest of the report sounds reassuring as well.

No need to worry: That just means you have diverticulosis without other more concerning issues like diverticulitis or abscess.

No infection.: Diverticulosis by itself is not dangerous. Just requires a high fiber diet in the long run. Diverticuli can bleed or become infected but the lack of an acute process on the CT tells us that there's nothing to worry about right now.
