Varies: There are many great dental cements out there and they can be used depending on the case and the preference of the dentist.

It depends: This depends on the anatomy of the tooth (shape, status of the nerve) and the material that the crown is made from. Often times, the type of cement used is less important than the skill of the dentist and the quality of the crown itself because much of what makes the crown stay in place is due to the mechanical retention of the crown; how closely it fits the tooth.

Tooth cement: Dentists generally find a cement that in their perception works best for cementation of the crowns. Before choosing a cement dentists usually consider pros and cons and gravitate toward one they consider to be their favorite. So leave it to your dentist. After all they want the best for their patients.

Varies: Depends on many factors, including the type of material the crown is made of and the amount and shape of the remaining tooth it will be attached to. Also, the type of preparation that is made on the tooth - is it near parallel, tapered, too tapered, etc. Additionally, the location of the tooth can affect all of the above.Common cements are resins,ZnPO4, glass ionomers, and resin ionomers.Good Luck

Glass Ionomer: This is the best dental cement. However, the major factor choosing the cement is the core material used for the crown fabrication.
