May raise suspicion: There can be many causes of this, possibly as simple as dietary and hydrational, however if it persists despite dietary modifications or occurs in someone with a significant family history or other risk factors, then evaluation should probably be undertaken.

Possibly: There are many causes or irregular bowels. Dietary fiber, water being the most common. However, irregular ar bowels can be caused by inflammatory, infectios, or neoplastic causes (cancer). If it persists, see a colon and rectal surgeon for evaluation.
