Depends: Depends how severe it is. Usually after 1 week of treatment significant improvement occurs.

Depends: There is no cure for gingivitis or periodontitis b/c you can never rid of bacteria in the mouth. That said, gingivitis is easily treated with good, regular home care and professional cleaning. Periodontitis is a bit more complicated to treat.

It Happens fast: After a professional cleaning and good homecare for a few days, your gums will return to health. In cases where gingivitis has become periodontitis, your treatment and recovery will be more involved and may take months.
