A few weeks: It depends on the surgeon's preference but typically after acl surgery you can come off of crutches within 2 weeks. Some surgeons allow weaning off of crutches at the first post-operative visit. The key really is that the patient wears the knee brace religiously and gets off of the crutches once he/she is able to walk without putting too much stress on the knee.
