None really: The major cause of varicose veins is heredity. The evidence in support of the things dr. Hertzman mentioned is conflicting at best. If you have inherited the tendency to get varicose veins, it will happen regardless. You might be able to make them less severe than they would have been otherwise with the things that have been mentioned. Doing those things will make your legs hurt less.
