A member asked:

Can having a stiff neck lead to brain damage?

A stiff neck is ...: Most likely related to muscular strain in the neck muscles and not to the central nervous system unless the stiff neck is associated with fever, headache, nausea and vomiting and confusion. If bacterial meningitis is present, brain damage could occur but not necessarily so.

Stiff neck: If related to viral or bacterial meningitis or due to a cerebral bleed it can effect the brain. Do you have any other symptoms?
