Facial Injury: A blow to the face just below the eye causes some damage to the infraorbital nerve, which gives sensation to the upper lip, upper teeth, face, and nostril on the injured side. The crush injury rarely causes permanent numbness, and recovery of function is the rule, although it takes time. In the meantime, be careful with hot liquids and foods on that side.

Probably: Get it looked at, but after a week things should improve.

Numbness improves: Most of the time after an injury like that. Generally speaking, the nerve gets bruised and usually recovers although it may take up to 6 months. By this time, most of the swelling should be better. If you feel like your face is deformed or crooked, make sure you get evaluated by a (facial) plastic surgeon or ENT soon. You might have some broken facial bones which need repair.
