Bonds scan?: While i can see reasons were a bone scan might be useful, i would usually order a pet scan in such a situation. If your doctors are concerned for lung cancer, then they are looking for evidence that it has spread. If it has spread, then biopsy of the metastasis is more important than biopsy of the lung nodule.

They suspect cancer: Spread from some place to your lung and they want to know if it moved to other places in your body. Good luck.

PET Scan?: I assume that you don't have a history of cancer. The pulmonary nodule or " dark spot" should be evaluated for potential malignancy or cancer risk before invasive procedures like lung biopsy. A pet/ct scan is best diagnostic tool for these purposes. If the pulmonary nodule is very large, they would probably go straight to biopsy. The bone scan ordered is to look for cancer spread to bones, if any.
