Treat for BV: The tests you describe are not the way to diagnose bv. If it smells like it, just treat it.

Vaginitis: There are many causes of vaginitis that are not necessarily infectious. One cause is known as desquamative vaginitis which is very similar to your description. I would recommend seeing your gynecologist.
