Likely gum infection: It may be that when you press your gums with your tongue, you are expressing pus from a gum or tooth infection. This drainage, depending on the underlying bacteria involved, can have a strong odor/flavor. If you want to keep your teeth, get it evaluated and treated.

Infection: What you are tasting is probably due to an infection. You should go to the dentist and be evaluated for periodontal disease or other possible infections.
