It depends: It depends on the type of ankle fracture. Many ankle fractures require surgery and a period of non weight bearing to allow for healing. Some ankle fractures can be treated with weight bearing as tolerated. More specifically, some fibula fractures at the ankle can be treated without surgery and with weight bearing as tolerated. Best to see an orthopaedic surgeon to make sure!
