Doesn't matter...: ...What bit you. Bug bite are all treated the same way, usually with antihistamines, and an antibiotic if an infection should develop. There are other causes of swelling and hives, however - so if you do not see a prompt response to a long-acting antihistamine such as allergra, see your doctor for a proper examination.

Insect bite: May or may not be spider. Swelling and allergic response is troublesome. If you have OTC antihistamine, such as Benadryl, take one. Then see your Physician or Urgent Care immediately. If swelling/hives increase, if you have any respiratory difficulty, go to ER.
