Lowers blood glucose: In some patients, hbot (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can increase their sensitivity to Insulin and/or increase glucose uptake and use by muscle cells. I suspect that there are other mechanisms at play, but in total, the effect is lower the amount of blood glucose. Of course this can cause problems, but generally the treatment is to eat before getting hbot, and ensure adequate nutritional reserve.
