Rosacea, treatment: A lot of people don't even know they have this condition! Treatment alternatives include topical agents which are very effective for mild rosacea. Patients that do not respond or want a more permanent solution, I use photorejuvenation. This light energy treatment require 5-8 sessions. Usually no anesthesia is needed and the treatments are performed in the office. Brown spots are also improved.

Pulsed Dye Laser: Pulsed dye laser is an excellent choice for the treatment of facial rosacea. The treatment is very effective and is not painful. It has very little downtime and is done in the office. This should be combined with sun protection. In my opinion, the syneron/candela v-beam perfecta laser is the best pdl.

No: But treatment is usually easy. If you have eye symptoms or if you have nodules on you nose you will be very glad we have effective remedies. Many people have trivial rosacea needing only reassurance and a few simple things to know about it.

Cream, pills: Prescription creams such as metrocream, finances, and even clenia can help rosacea. Oral antibiotics including oracea, minocin, (minocycline) and doxycyline can suppress pustules. Trigger foods which are identified by diet history should be avoided. See add.Org pamphlet on rosacea for common trigger foods.
