Heat pack: Heat pack, baby shampoo wash and omega 3 essential fatty acid by mouth may help. If does not go away after 1-2 weeks please see your ophthalmologist. You may need antibiotic combined with steroid treatment. If it does not help then you may need a surgical cleaning of the stye or steroid injection .

Warm compresses: Warm compresses, or surgical incision and drainage, or steroid have been the only effective treatments demonstrated get rid of a stye. A stye is due to the orifice of an oil gland (mebomian gland) in the eyelid margin becoming inflamed, and not an infection.
