I found out that's a way that doctors remove styes, but what do they actually do, what do you recommend?

Dr. Tim Conrad answered

Specializes in Ophthalmology

Styes: are infected eyelid glands. They are painful and swollen. Often they will resolve with the use of hot soaks four times per day for a week. If this does not work, then the stye can be opened and drained. This can be done in the ophthalmologist's office under local anesthesia.
