Dentist: If your mother has a tooth that is hurting...Logic would say.."go see a dentist". Teeth and surrounding structures are our specialties. Why wait.

See a dentist: Get your Mother to a dentist as soon as possible. A painful tooth can be treated. Frequently there is an infection that is causing the pain and this can get worse the longer she waits. So the sooner, the better
