Yes: Depends on sensitivity of HCG test. If you test too early will show up negative. Also, remember you can have an ectopic and an intrauterine pregnancy at same time. Pain and abdominal pain in child bearing ages should get pregnancy test and ultrasound.

No: The urine tests for pregnancies are extremely sensitive, and detect a pregnancy within 3-4 days. That being said, there is an exception to everything in medicine, so if in doubt, repeat the test in 3 days to be sure.
