Very little: Onions have very low levels of purines, and are considered a low purine food, and thus safe for gout.

Don’t worry: Onions are fine. Fresh vegetables are generally good in a gout diet. Asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, and cauliflower are higher in purines but do not increase your risk of gout attacks. I would not worry about avoiding veggies but concentrate on reducing other things in the diet to avoid gout attacks.
