How long should you do cpr before giving up?

Until help arrives: If you (or someone else) has called 911, continue CPR until the ambulance arrives. If you are somewhere that is inaccessible to an ambulance, continue CPR for 15-20 minutes, if the patient remains unresponsive, further CPR is incredibly unlikely that the patient can be revived.

As long as you can: If it is a baby or young adult keep doing CPR until help arrives - in hospital we have done CPR for 30 min and revived patients.
