Side,sweep,resume: Turn them on there side, sweep there mouth out and resume compressions. The new standards for layperson CPR focus on fast and hard compressions without ventilation's to keep circulation going until advanced help arrives. That said i think it is reasonable to stop briefly to clear the airway to prevent material from entering the airway.
