Dm diagnosis: There are few criterias for diabetes: 2 fasting reading of 126 or above, or 2 random (non-fasting) levels of 200 or above, or hg a1c >5.7, or doing 2 hr glucose tolerance test (more tedious to do).

Normal blood sugar: No need to check 1-hour post-meal blood sugar, even so, both are normal. Two meters can't be compared to each other for accuracy. The very best way to determine if a glucometer is accurate is to use the same blood sample in the lab and glucometer concomitantly. Glucometer blood sugar compared with lab blood sugar will determine accuracy of glucometer.

Not diabetic: Either one, 167 or 180 at 1 hour after meal does not fit criteria for diabetes. Fasting bg >125 on 2 occasions, or any bg >200 (especially at 2 hours after eating) will meet criteria. Previous question noted ht 5'0", wt 148'-still room to lose. Bmi of 25 (cut off for overweight) would be at around 128').
