I have tontillitis , after 5 days put on antibiotics but the pain on my left side is so severe going into my ear i cannot eat coulkd this be an abcess?

One possibility: While abcess is one possibility, there are other things tht could be going on. The antibiotic used may not be effective against the particular germ causing your tonsillitis. Ot your tonsillitis could be viral in origin, and no antibiotic will help. It could even be a virus like mononucleosis, as this is often mistaken for "tonsilitis" because it makes your tonsils look gross. Seek additional care!

Yes but may take 10: Days or more for effective treatment of tonsillitis. Discuss with your physician and closely monitor the size of your tonsils.
