Is it normal for stitches to come out after day 9 of tonsillectomy why is there still white stuff and pain inside?

Sounds normal: It takes about 2 weeks to heal and at 9 days the throat can still look pretty gross. I tell my tonsil patients that they will start feeling a lot better by day 12.
