Are narcotics dangerous if you have a brain aneurysm?

No: Narcotics are no more dangerous for a person with a known aneurysm than they are for a person without an aneurysm. People with aneurysms should avoid medications that will raise their blood pressure such as sudafed or other stimulants.

Narcotics/ aneurysm: When narcotics are used in proper doses for pain control, they are safe in patients with brain aneurysms provided the patient does not have any altered mental status.
