A member asked:

Is it alright to not eat vegetables at all? my husband does not eat them and does not take any vitamins. is this ok?

Not usually: People can survive on very poor diets (eg fast foods, with high fat and salt). However, the more vegetables and fruits one eats, the healthier he or she is. A diet with lots of veggies and fruits is associated with less cancer, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Try experimenting with different types of spices, sauces, or cooking methods (eg roasting with oil and garlic)!
