My granddaughter has an abcsess in lymph nodes causedby decaying teeth. she has been treated in hospital with intravenous antibiotics. she is always sick with fevers etc.what should be done?

She will be fine: Sorry to hear this. She is in the right place for treatment and i hope she recovers quickly. The decayed teeth probably will need to be removed and the abscess may have to be drained. Often a ct scan will be performed to determine the extent of the infection. Wish your granddaughter and your family strength.

Needs to see dentist: Abscessed teeth are a source of infection. Antibiotics will only control the infection until they run out, then problems will come roaring back. Granddaughter must see dentist asap to treat her decayed and abscessed teeth.

Get to a dentist!: Teeth that are so badly decayed that an individual requires hospitalization, put that person at risk for severe medical issues, even death! your grand daughter needs dental care immediately so that all her diseased teeth are treated (restored or extracted). Worry about replacements later, get her healthy first!
