No: Soma (carisoprodol) is a muscle relaxer and not a pain medicine. It has some sedative property which may help with sleep in short term. It is typically not a good choice for chronic situations and may cause unnecessary dependence problems.

Sleep: Soma (carisoprodol) is a central nervous system depressant. Many seem to overuse this drug, which can be very addicting. Talk to your doctor about alternatives.
