Shorter-acting muscle relaxants? currently taking 1/2 a soma (carisoprodol) at night for sleep/cervical spondylosis/fibromyalgia-like pain. tired into daytime.

Soma (carisoprodol): Try to get off soma (carisoprodol). Is not a good muscle relaxant, it works more like a sedative and has addictive potential. There are better options but need to talk to you doctor (this is not a good format to suggest other medications).

Skelaxin (metaxalone): Pretty much all muscle relaxors have sedative side effects. Skelaxin, (metaxalone) by far, is the only one that has less pronounced one. Not too many insurances cover it. Otherwise, it is an expensive one to buy out of pocket.
