Pediatric or GYN?: An adolescent exam usually defers the genitalia for examination, unless the history dictates otherwise. Same for breast exam. If there are gynecological concerns, then a gyn is consulted. Safety, pregnancy, substance use, std, academic and career plans, social adjustment, immunizations, and general health concerns make up the bulk of the visit.
